SASKATCHEWAN INDIGENOUS CULTURAL CENTRE
First Nations people have long passed on knowledge from generation to generation through oral traditions, including storytelling. Storytelling is a traditional method used to teach about cultural beliefs, values, customs, rituals, history, practices, relationships, and ways of life. First Nations storytelling is a foundation for holistic learning, relationship building, and experiential learning. Traditionally, it is during the winter months that First Nations storytelling occurs. Virtual storytelling sessions will be available on our website throughout the entire month of February.

CAROL
ESTRALSHENEN
Carol Estralshenen is from the English River First Nation (Denesuline). Carol is knowledgeable dene language specialist and a former St. Louis teacher. Not only is she a fantastic storyteller but a gifted traditional beader. Her stories are captivating, yet another powerful storyteller that offers Indigenous knowledge and teachings.
LYNDON
LINKLATER
Lyndon Linklater is a traditional knowledge keeper and storyteller. He is a member of the Thunderchild First Nation (Plains Cree) in Treaty 6 and has roots in Couchiching First Nation (Fort Francis, Ontario) in Treaty 3. He is a powerful storyteller that utilizes Indigenous teachings that involve knowledge of ceremonies and mixes humour to deliver a poignant message.
