FIRST NATIONS LANGUAGE INSTRUCTORS' CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The First Nations Language Instructors’ Certificate Program is designed to provide training for language Instructors and Teachers’ aides working in First Nations communities. The course has been revised with enhanced language instruction and curriculum development content to meet the needs identified by First Nations communities. A new course in community-based curriculum development is now included.

The revised First Nations Language Instructors’ Certificate Program consists of ten 3-credit hour University accred-ited degree courses. It is designed for students who speak a First Nations language and it is primarily designed for language instructors and teachers’ aides who are working in First Nations classrooms. The Saskatchewan Indian Cultural Centre will provide additional support to achieving student success.

Students are required to participate in ALL of the following classes over a 6-week period:
