Individual Memberships

  • Members of Saskatchewan First Nations (treaty status individuals) are required to pay a refundable deposit of $20.00 (effective September 1, 2004, nonretroactive). This registration is valid only at SICC and will be renewed annually, subject to all overdue materials being returned, and all fines and invoices paid. The deposit can be returned at any time, subject to all overdue materials being returned, and all fines and invoices paid. This process takes approximately two days.
  • All other individuals will be asked to pay a non-refundable yearly fee of $20.00 (effective September 1, 2004, nonretroactive).

Institutional Memberships

Institutional memberships are available to First Nations and non-First Nations organizations in Saskatchewan.

  • First Nations institutions are entitled to a membership at no charge.
  • Non-First Nations institutions are required to pay a yearly membership of $50.00.

Institutional memberships include

  1. agreement that the institution will be responsible for all materials borrowed,
  2. the name of an individual who has authority to generate payment of outstanding fines and invoices of members who are authorized to borrow, and
  3. a list of authorized borrowers for the institution.

The SICC Library does not loan items out-of-province.

Circulation: The borrowing party is responsible for all overdue fines and invoices for lost materials. Material overdue will be assumed to be lost after being overdue for 30 days. Lost materials will be invoiced at replacement cost (from $10.00 to $200.00 per item).

Books, videocassettes, and audiocassettes are loaned for 3 weeks (individuals) and 6 weeks (institutions).

Periodicals, microforms and vertical file material are not loaned. A photocopier is available at $0.10 per page, subject to copyright legislation.

Loan renewals can be done by telephone, fax, mail or email. For contact information select 'Contact Us' and see the Branch Office contact information.

Interlibrary Loan: The SICC Library also lends material through Interlibrary Loan. ILL is available free to libraries in Saskatchewan who reciprocally loan to the SICC and other libraries. Material must be sent to the library, not to another organization or to an individual. We provide ILL to the University of Saskatchewan, SIAST-Kelsey Campus, and Saskatchewan Public Libraries through the Provincial Library.
