In the past, a series of two Youth Cultural Immersion Camps were held at the
White Buffalo Youth Lodge in Saskatoon. The latest was held on April 21, 2009. The camps focused on students from grades five to eight and material covered focused on the nature and principles of basic traditional First Nations ceremonies in an age appropriate manner. Promotion was done through posters, email and the SICC website. A cultural resource handbook was developed as a part of this project. The cultural camps were positively received and some of the participants expressed their intent to continue to learn First Nations culture, language, protocols and ceremonies.
