Article: Cycle of Life

The Dene believe that all living things have a spirit, there is a beginning and an end to everything that lives from human to plant life. At the same time, the Dene people believe that we are reincarnated and born again in another life time. The Inuit people believe that when a person dies their spirit is passed on to the newborn child named after them, so names are significant to the Inuit people. Just as the Inuit, the Dene believe that the spirit lives on and we are all old souls in a continuing cycle of life.
