Beverly Whitehawk
Beverly WhitehawkBeverly Whitehawk is a Saulteaux First Nations Woman from the Cote First Nation located near Kamsack, Saskatchewan. She is currently employed at the Yorkton Tribal Council as Director of Health and Social Development.

Previous to that she was employed at the Touchwood File Hills Qu'Appelle Tribal Council as Home Care Coordinator. Past employment include being Street Nurse for Youth at Risk for Saskatoon Downtown Youth Centre, Native Outreach Counsellor for Canadian Paraplegic. She is a mother of two adult daughters, Valerie and Camilla, and one 13 year old son Tony. She is married to James Whitehawk.

She graduated from SIAST in 1990 as LPN and 1991 as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse. Although she is no longer employed in a health institution she holds her license as a RPN and every day still utilizes all her nursing skills in counselling, awareness prevention and health promotion.

  • 1998 - Present Development YTC Crisis / Intervention Mental Health Program in Partnership with East Central Health District.

  • 1997 - Present Kamsack Urban Wellness - Child Action Plan Program for children and parents who need assistance in education and family wellness.

  • 1997 - Ongoing YTC Project Safe Haven - Budget acquisition for capital and operating, land. Provides shelter, counselling for those experiencing family violence.
