History

The Sakimay Reserve is located near the community of Grenfell, and about 1 hour and 45 minutes east of Regina. This reserve is 11,295.2 hectares in size with a population of 1,233 people of which 241 reside on the reserve.

The reserve came about after the signing of Treaty 4 on September 15, 1874. The people on the Sakimay Reserve speak Cree.
