Little Pine Elders, 1998
Little Pine Government Law
The Little Pine Chief and Council, along with the Band members, are in
the process of developing their own government law. The elders are the
main advisors to create these guidelines. This law is a type of constitutional
law stating the guidelines by which the present and future Little Pine
officials will adhere to in order to administer the Band affairs accordingly.
Sections to be defined in this new Law include the Referendum Act, Treaty
Land Entitlement, Housing, Roads, and the Justice Department.
This Band, under the leadership of Chief Maryanne Stoney, successfully
brought the Band to a 0% deficit. Hopefully, the new government law will
assist in keeping the financial matters in order.
