2011 marked another successful year for the Birds of Prey Program. Saskatchewan Environment released 16 Eagles and two Hawks for the program. The EAC, who is at the helm of the program, were on hand in late May, making recommendations of applications. On June 16, 2011, a Feast was held at noon followed by the Birds of Prey Feather Issuance. Recipients were provided with direction on the proper protocol for handling these items. 25 First Nations individuals and 8 First Nations organizations were awarded feathers this year.

 

As with every year, the Elders Advisory Council and SICC staff discuss issues to improve delivery of the program for the following year. We look forward to another successful year in 2012.
